State of the Fleet, July

Colonization push

The colonial governor , Horris, of  the South-Eastern Broken Lands announced recently that twenty new vessels have docked within the Fleet land claim. Several rivers, ocean fronts, and strangely even some tiles inland have been claimed and settled by newer pirates. I’m not entirely sure how they managed to break down their ships and drag them hundreds of kilometers inland but all the power to them. These settlements have a pretty even distribution among the following provinces; Orken Coast, Jurgor, Shardlands, and Pirate Isles.

Horris expects a steady arrival of vessels for the foreseeable future and requests that welcome baskets be prepared. Any offers of resources should be levied towards Horris or any Quartermaster on duty.

Resource rights

With the more or less even distribution of vessels mooring and new colonists arriving in Pirate lands the question of resource rights began emerging. As always, all resources in our lands are for Pirates first. The first Pirate that settles within 5 squares of a resource is of that Pirate’s domain. Remember that while unaffiliated towns may have been there for years, these towns have been long considered illegal settlements and as such do not have resource rights.

If there are unaffiliated armies on rare resources further out than five squares be sure to greet them warmly with an army of your own. I’ve received disturbing reports that blood on some cutlasses have started to dry across the Fleet. You have to keep them wet to keep rust from accumulating!

Pirate Readiness

Pirate readiness is on an uptick in recent weeks. A recent Pirate by the name of IKEA proclaimed proudly in a public forum “ Give me Booty or give me your city!” in regards to illegal settlements. The Pirate King quickly gave IKEA the tools for a new vessel to be constructed so the latter could continue his reign of terror more efficiently.

I was able to speak with the commander of an ongoing siege recently. Overlord Hiero-Punch was able to take a moment from drinking his grog to give a comment on the siege of _7F FB HAIRY N SHORT. “No action on the front, have lobbed some boulders and took out some horses and a horse trainer. Don’t you have something better to do than write?”.

Keep these Pirates in your minds and keep the Pirate King in your Hearts.
